Makeup on the Go: Tips and Tricks from an Ex Morning Person

29/09/2025

If you're anything like me, you love your sleep. My morning person days ended when I entered full time employment, and the energetic puppy inside me became a shriveled-up dormouse, fueled by energy drinks and the inevitable return to bed upon arriving back home. If this sounds like you, and you happen to also love makeup then fear not: I have compiled a quick and easy makeup routine which can be done wherever you choose– whether that be public transport or your bedroom floor.

Face

Makeup Revolution Skin Silk Foundation : I tend to skip this step most of the time however on the rare days I want to make an effort, this is my go-to. This medium-coverage foundation blends easily and leaves a healthy, dewy finish. I would recommend blending this in with a beauty blender for a seamless glow. To top it off, this foundation is available in 40 shades. This is how to make makeup inclusive.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer: I have used this since I was thirteen and I plan on using it until I'm one hundred and three. The medium- coverage is perfect for all occasions and it lasts well. My only critique for this is the shade range is poor. It's 2025 guys…come on.

Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out cream blush in Petal Poppin: I've never been a cream products girlie. Then I tried this, and I never looked back. Though it's a high-end product, the price point is reasonable considering how fantastic the formula is, how beautifully it blends and how fab the pigmentation is. Let's also not forget Fenty Beauty is well renowned for its inclusive shade ranges – so it's wins all round.

I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to set these products in place. Another product I've used since I first got into makeup, this powder is cheap and cheerful. The option of a translucent shade is a huge bonus.

For my bronzer and highlighter, natural collection is a great go to. Despite the low price tags, their cheek products are high quality, long lasting and have a decent shade range. The small pan sizes are perfect for individuals on the go, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Eyes and Eyebrows

The makeup revolution eyebrow pencils are my absolute favourite. They're so easy to use and are perfect for anyone in a rush.

I'll be honest, I don't wear eyeshadow every day. However, if I want some colour on my eyes, the natural collection single eyeshadows are my go-to. I will also shout out Nyx for their liquid eyeshadows – I am obsessed.

The number seven lash defining mascara is my favourite high street mascara. Not only is it long lasting, but it doesn't smudge. It's perfect for a long day at school, work or university.

Lips

If I'm in a rush, I'm popping a pout bomb from makeup revolution in my bag and applying it on the go. There are so many different shades to suit any outfit and the product itself feels hydrating without being overly sticky.

And there you have it : a fuss free makeup routine. Minimal effort and maximum results – which is exactly how I like to spend my morning haha. Let me know what you think of these products in the comment box. What is your morning makeup routine like?

Love,

Em xx
